In order to make people feel more comfortable to watch the screen, these projectors adopt the principle of diffuse reflection to avoid direct reflection of strong light. Therefore, their performance of anti-ambient light is relatively weak. Therefore, compared with ordinary projectors, laser projectors has higher contrast ratio and better image clarity.
In fact, there are brands like Optoma, BenQ, and Epson, already selling ultra-short throw projectors, whose claimed service life is 5,000 hours. However, the brightness and contrast performance would decay after 2,000-3,000 hours of using, which does exist, may not be often spoken of.
Some say laser TV is just a form of advanced projectors. Well, when it comes to laser projector, it might just refer to the machine itself. For laser TV, the projection screen, the speaker, and other attached accessories are also included, which indicates the application difference between laser TV and laser projector.
Light source of Laser TV, inevitably, would decay over a long period of using. 20,000 hours in theory, 5 times longer than other light sources, almost the same as the service life for the LCD TV. The color gamut of the laser light source should be much wider than that of the bulb with the same price. However, for the monochrome laser, if the manufacturer hasn’t adjusted it properly, there will be a bluish situation when playing the white scene, which most customers won’t even be aware of. For those who have high requirements on the color accuracy, you need to pay attention to that. For the moment, laser TV, with 100 inches screen, seems a great choice.
